The curriculum for this class is designed to provide children with social opportunities that allow them to experience peer and group relationships. Daily lessons include: expressive arts, dramatic play, religion, language arts, fine and large motor skill exercises. The 2 Day Program is open to children who will turn three by September 1.
3 Day Program
The 3 Day Program is designed for four and five year olds who have had a previous preschool experience. The curriculum is designed around the “Kindergarten Readiness” model. “All three of my children have gone through the program – I like that the teachers always have a smile on their faces and that the program is more intimate than many of the other preschools.” – Paula R (IHM Preschool parent)

5 Day Kindergarten Readiness Program
The 5 Day Program is designed for four and five year olds who have had a previous preschool experience and who may be ready for more than a three day preschool program. A child must have turned 4 years old by June 1 (three months before school starts) to be eligible for this program. The afternoon class is also slightly longer than the morning classes running two hours and forty-five minutes.
Parents may also take advantage of the school carpool line at pickup time for the afternoon program.
Why a five day preschool class?
- IHM along with many other schools are offering full day Kindergarten and a five day preschool class is a nice way to transition to all day Kindergarten.
- This class is more focused academically then a traditional three day class
- Children have more time to spend on kindergarten objectives and requirements
- The extra time provides children with the opportunity to practice as well as learn new skills.
What will children learn in the 5 Day program?
Children in the five day program will continue to develop their social skills and enjoy free time while also having the opportunity to learn:
- Pre-literacy: reading, writing, letter recognition & phonics
- Pre-math; serialization, sequence, addition, subtraction & number recognition
- Science; cause & effect, nature, laws and theories
