 Home and School Committee
Mission
The mission of the Home and School Committee (HSC) is to encourage and facilitate the active involvement of parents and teachers in the spiritual and academic life of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School, to provide our children with the best education possible.
Responsibilities
The HSC coordinates the activities found in the LOVE (“Lots of Vital Energy”) Agreement. They oversee the distribution and collection of the LOVE Agreement and make sure that all of the activities have appropriate leadership and volunteers. The Home and School Committee is always looking for ways to improve Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School and the education the children receive.
Membership in Home and School
All families are members of the IHMCS Home and School Committee. As members, they are expected to participate in school activities in some way. This is administered through the LOVE (Lots of Vital Energy) Agreement. Each family is asked to volunteer for one all-school assignments, to choose 15 hours of family service, and to assist with grade assignment(s).
 About the Home and School Committee Leadership
Members of the Home and School Committee Leadership serve a two-year term. The HSC Leadership meets once a month. Participation in this group is very rewarding and not necessarily time-consuming, since members coordinate, rather than chair, events. Volunteers for these positions are sought in the spring. It's a great way to get involved!
