Foreign Language

In order to successfully learn a foreign language, the “track” must be laid during the early school years. That’s why at IHMCS, we are committed to providing a strong foreign language program.  Our language of choice is Spanish. Spanish is taught by a language specialist to all students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade.  The curriculum is designed to incorporate both oral and written components of Spanish, and to develop deeper cultural understandings of Spanish-speaking countries. Students meet once a week through fourth grade and twice a week from fifth through eighth grades.
